"This is what the LORD says, he who made the earth, the LORD who formed it and established it -- the LORD is his name: `Call to me and I will answer you and tell you great and unsearchable things you do not know.' (NIV) Jeremiah 33:2-3

"I have much more to SAY to you, more than you can now bear. But when he, the Spirit of truth, comes, he will guide you into all truth. He will not speak on his own; he will speak only what he hears, and he will tell you what is yet to come.  He will bring glory to me by taking from what is mine and making it known to you.  All that belongs to the Father is mine. That is why I said the Spirit will take from what is mine and make it known to you. (NIV) John 16:12-15

My sheep listen to my VOICE; I know them, and they follow me. (NIV) John 10:27

My son, pay attention to what I SAY; listen closely to my words. (NIV) Proverbs 4:20

And all these blessings shall come on thee, and overtake thee, if thou shalt hearken unto the VOICE of the LORD thy God. (KJV) Deuteronomy 28:2

That thou mayest love the LORD thy God, and that thou mayest obey his VOICE, and that thou mayest cleave unto him: for he is thy life, and the length of thy days: that thou mayest dwell in the land which the LORD swore unto thy fathers, to Abraham, to Isaac, and to Jacob, to give them. (KJV) Deuteronomy 30:20

Only if thou carefully hearken unto the VOICE of the LORD thy God, to observe to do all these commandments which I command thee this day. (KJV) Deuteronomy 15:5

When thou shalt hearken to the VOICE of the LORD thy God, to keep all his commandments which I command thee this day, to do that which is right in the eyes of the LORD thy God. (KJV) Deuteronomy 13:18

Ye shall walk after the LORD your God, and fear him, and keep his commandments, and obey his VOICE, and ye shall serve him, and cleave unto him. (KJV) Deuteronomy 13:4

As the nations which the LORD destroyeth before your face, so shall ye perish, because ye would not be obedient unto the VOICE of the LORD your God. (KJV) Deuteronomy 8:20

When thou art in tribulation, and all these things are come upon thee, even in the latter days, if thou turn to the LORD thy God, and shalt be obedient unto his VOICE; (KJV) Deuteronomy 4:30

And the people said unto Joshua, The LORD our God will we serve, and his VOICE will we obey. (KJV) Joshua 24:24

“But this thing commanded I them, saying, Obey my VOICE, and I will be your God, and ye shall be my people: and walk ye in all the ways that I have commanded you, that it may be well unto you. (KJV) Jeremiah 7:23

"I have testimony weightier than that of John. For the very work that the Father has given me to finish, and which I am doing, testifies that the Father has sent me. And the Father who sent me has himself testified concerning me. You have never heard his VOICE nor seen his form, nor does his word dwell in you, for you do not believe the one he sent.  You diligently study the Scriptures because you think that by them you possess eternal life. These are the Scriptures that testify about me,  yet you refuse to come to me to have life. (NIV) John 5:36-40

Bread of Life

For the bread of God is he who comes down from heaven and gives life to the world." "Sir," they said, "from now on give us this bread." Then Jesus declared, "I am the bread of life. He who comes to me will never go hungry, and he who believes in me will never be thirsty.” (NIV) John 6:33-35

Jesus answered, "I am the way and the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me. (NIV) John 14:6

Jesus answered, "It is written: `Man does not live on bread alone, but on every WORD that comes from the MOUTH of God.'" (NIV) Matthew 4:4

For the WORD of God is living and active. Sharper than any double-edged sword, it penetrates even to dividing soul and spirit, joints and marrow; it judges the thoughts and attitudes of the heart. (NIV) Hebrews 4:12

The word of God is living and active, because the word became flesh and dwelt among us.  And, that word is sharper than any two-edged sword!  This sword comes from the mouth of Jesus...!

I turned around to see the VOICE that was speaking to me. And when I turned I saw seven golden lampstands, and among the lampstands was someone "like a son of man," dressed in a robe reaching down to his feet and with a golden sash around his chest.  His head and hair were white like wool, as white as snow, and his eyes were like blazing fire. His feet were like bronze glowing in a furnace, and his voice was like the sound of rushing waters. In his right hand he held seven stars, and out of his mouth came a sharp double-edged sword. His face was like the sun shining in all its brilliance. (NIV) Revelation 1:12-16

Veil in the Temple

At that moment the curtain of the temple was torn in two from top to bottom. The earth shook and the rocks split. The tombs broke open and the bodies of many holy people who had died were raised to life. They came out of the tombs, and after Jesus' resurrection they went into the holy city and appeared to many people. When the centurion and those with him who were guarding Jesus saw the earthquake and all that had happened, they were terrified, and exclaimed, "Surely he was the Son of God!" (NIV) Matthew 27:51-54

From this moment on, no one had to go through anyone else to get to God.  They had “direct access”!  This small little verse in the written Word is not paid enough attention to.  We can talk to God “face to face”!

The LORD would speak to Moses face to face, as a man speaks with his friend. Then Moses would return to the camp, but his young aide Joshua son of Nun did not leave the tent. (NIV) Exodus 33:11

Purpose for Hearing God

What is the purpose for hearing God?  To give God the victory in your day!  To put it another way.  The purpose for hearing God is to, enable Him to guide you into a victorious position!   When you are in a victorious position, God gets the victory!

Evaluating a Situation

Evaluating a situation, by speaking to God, listening to God’s voice, knowing God’s Word, and following the guidance of the Holy Spirit, brings godly wisdom.  You will get - smarter!

Evaluating a situation by relying on your own opinion, or experience, or someone else’s opinion or experiences other than God’s, brings worldly wisdom.  You will get - stupid!

God’s wisdom is the most important way we can know how to go about living our lives for God, and the only type of wisdom which truly benefits our lives on this earth!  It is perfect wisdom, it is truth, and it is eternal!

Fact!

When you do not listen to God - you put everyone else in - danger!

When God Tells You Something

When God tells you something, it is important!  If He tells you something, He wants done, it is important!  Everything God tells you is important, so when He tells you something, He is commanding you with an instruction.  Take it seriously!

Example:  If God tells you to relax, take it seriously.  He could be wanting you to be in a certain mode for something.

  • There is nothing that can replace actual time spent talking sharing and being taught directly by God!
