Come unto ME!

“Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you and learn from me, for I am gentle and humble in heart, and you will find rest for your souls. For my yoke is easy and my burden is light.” Matthew 11:28-30 (NIV)

Someone asked me years ago to explain this verse in a more understandable way for them. This is what God gave me:

“Come to me all you who are troubled, tired, exhausted, grief stricken, and worn from the stresses of life. Come to me and you will find rest from your laboring. You will recover, collect your strength, and be refreshed.

Take my pair of balances (yoke) upon you which are easier to be kept. Learn from me, understand, and increase in knowledge; because I AM gentle and humble in heart, and you will find an intermission from your feelings.

My balances (yoke) are manageable and the obligations I lay on my followers are lighter in weight.”
