Conviction!

Whether you have given your life to God or not – when you have done something that is wrong and displeasing to God – you know it!  That is when and impression or feeling comes over you and you begin to experience an uncomfortableness letting you know you have done something that is wrong!  I would say most everyone has experienced this impression at one time or another!  You can call it conscience; you can call it whatever you want.  It is – Conviction!  And one should NOT ignore it!  It MUST be dealt with.  Why?  If you choose to ignore it, it will turn into condemnation!

Now!  You have a choice.  When you feel convicted about something, get with God as soon as possible.  If you choose to walk around with that conviction and you do not deal with it, Satan is going to make sure that it turns in to condemnation and you will begin to feel like dirt!

The law of gravity is a natural law.  If you throw something up in the air, it is going to come down.  The law of sin is the same.  If you continue in sin, it will bring you down.  If not right away, it will at some point.  It must be dealt with. This sounds tough, but the written Word says, “Behold your sins will find you out!”

The important thing is this, God wants to rid you of issues in your life that can cause you hurt and pain.  For Him to do that, you must be willing to allow Him the room to work in your life.  He is not trying to hurt you; He is trying to keep you from hurt!

If we listen to God and obey what He tells us and if we feel convicted about something,if we deal with that conviction with God ASAP, there is NO room for condemnation!  You see condemnation is from Satan!

“Therefore, there is now no condemnation for those who are in Christ Jesus.  (Romans 8:1)

Rebellion

Rebellion is a subject that is tough to deal with.  I will make this one short; I believe it will speak for itself.  Here are some scriptures that we need to look at.

“The whole assembly of the LORD says: `How could you break faith with the God of Israel like this? How could you turn away from the LORD and build yourselves an altar in rebellion against him now? (NIV) Joshua 22:1

“For rebellion is like the sin of divination, and arrogance like the evil of idolatry. Because you have rejected the word of the LORD,”(NIV) 1 Samuel 15:23“

“For I know how rebellious and stiff-necked you are?  Deuteronomy 31:27 (NIV)

When does disobedience become rebellion? When you realize that you are doing something wrong and you keep on doing it anywayTHAT IS REBELLION!

I want to share with you something that God taught me; it is very blunt. “A righteous man won’t rebel!”

The scripture in the written Word to back this up, is as follows:

“Who is wise? He will realize these things. Who is discerning?  He will understand them.  The ways of the Lord are right; the righteous walk in them, but the rebellious stumble in them.(NIV) Hosea 14:9

Conclusion

Have we built any “altars of rebellion” in our lives?  And altar of rebellion is something you are holding onto – and God wants you to let it go!So, the question is: are you holding on to anything that God wants you to let go of?  And by the way are you angry with God because He wants you to let it go?
