Grieving the Holy Spirit is God ABUSE!

“And do not grieve the Holy Spirit of God, with whom you were sealed for the day of redemption.” (Ephesians 4:30)

“Quench not the Spirit.” (1 Thessalonians 5:19)

Then the man and his wife heard the sound of the LORD God as he was walking in the garden in the cool of the day, and they hid from the LORD God among the trees of the garden. But the LORD God called to the man, "Where are you?" He answered, "I heard you in the garden, and I was afraid because I was naked; so, I hid. And he said, "Who told you that you were naked? Have you eaten from the tree that I commanded you not to eat from?" The man said, "The woman you put here with me -- she gave me some fruit from the tree, and I ate it. Then the LORD God said to the woman, "What is this you have done? The woman said, "The serpent deceived me, and I ate." (NIV) Genesis 3:8-13

Blaming others for our actions doesn’t cut it with God! At the same time God does not condemn us. Why? Because the above scripture shows us that. However, God will bring to the surface that which He wants us to deal with in our lives! There is no way that attempting to blame someone else us for own choices – will work with God!

“Therefore, there is now no condemnation for those who are in Christ Jesus, (NIV) Romans 8:1

However, we must change! And in order to change we must face the facts regarding our choices! This is a must from God’s perspective!

Most people believe if the other person changes, their life will improve. Wrong! Whether anyone changes in their life or not, God still is counting on us to do what we are supposed to! Heart attitude is the key here. Where is your heart attitude at today?

God’s Top Ten List!

What can hurt God the MOST? THIS! People who take, take, take and are not willing to give back. Example: People say, “Give me this! Do this! Help me do this! Please do this for me! And when it doesn’t quite work out their way, they - “take a fit” at God! Never mind, all the things God has asked of them, and they haven’t done one thing for Him! God has done many things for them and they do not even recognize! Understand it is not that they owe Him anything. BUT! God was doing what He did for them! And when things do not work out just the way they want it - they get angry at God!

There are those who sit in church singing praise songs, and at the same time they have evil minded notions in their hearts – and on top of that they have all this “stuff” about serving God! They want to serve God, and they already have in their mind the way THEY want to do it!

God’s Top Ten List!

“And God spoke all these words: "I am the LORD your God, who brought you out of Egypt, out of the land of slavery. "You shall have no other gods before me. "You shall not make for yourself an idol in the form of anything in heaven above or on the earth beneath or in the waters below. You shall not bow down to them or worship them; for I, the LORD your God, am a jealous God, punishing the children for the sin of the fathers to the third and fourth generation of those who hate me, but showing love to a thousand generations of those who love me and keep my commandments. “You shall not misuse the name of the LORD your God, for the LORD will not hold anyone guiltless who misuses his name. Remember the Sabbath day by keeping it holy. Six days you shall labor and do all your work, but the seventh day is a Sabbath to the LORD your God. On it you shall not do any work, neither you, nor your son or daughter, nor your manservant or maidservant, nor your animals, nor the alien within your gates. For in six days the LORD made the heavens and the earth, the sea, and all that is in them, but he rested on the seventh day. Therefore, the LORD blessed the Sabbath day and made it holy. Honor your father and your mother, so that you may live long in the land the LORD your God is giving you. You shall not murder. "You shall not commit adultery "You shall not steal. You shall not give false testimony against your neighbor. You shall not covet your neighbor's house. You shall not covet your neighbor's wife, or his manservant or maidservant, his ox or donkey, or anything that belongs to your neighbor." (NIV) Exodus 20:1-17

Were you taught; Jesus had to come to earth and die earth because we couldn’t keep the Ten Commandments? That isn’t true! Why would God ask us to do something we couldn’t do? He wouldn’t! If He did that – He would be setting us up – for failure! God doesn’t work like that!

“One of the teachers of the law came and heard them debating. Noticing that Jesus had given them a good answer, he asked him, "Of all the commandments, which is the most important?" The most important one," answered Jesus, "is this: `Hear, O Israel, the Lord our God, the Lord is one. Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind and with all your strength. The second is this: `Love your neighbor as yourself.' There is no commandment greater than these." (NIV) Mark 12:28-31
